One Perfect Day In Charleston, South Carolina

Charleston is known for it’s southern charm and rich history. This guide will help you make the most out of your day in Charleston. I hope you packed some comfortable walking shoes.

If you are staying over night, definitely look into Airbnb rentals or hotels near King street, that’s where you’ll want to be. I stayed at a hotel that was “downtown” and it ended up being a 10 minute drive to the actual downtown area. That being said, you will most likely have to pay for parking if you are driving.

  1. Angel Oak.

You’ll have to go about 20 minutes out of town to visit this amazing place. This tree is believed to be over 400 years old and still growing. If you’re a nature lover, this is a must.

2) Vicious Biscuit.

Get a fat boy biscuit and a cold brew, it was literally the best thing I’ve ever had in my life. This is a great place to stay and brunch as well, the tables are first come first serve.

3) Historical Charleston City Market.

This is one of the most visited places in Charleston and is located on Market Street. This place is filled with tons of shops inside, if you’re planning on buying souvenirs, buy them here.

4) Rainbow Row.

You can walk here from Market Street but make sure you take the route on King Street. Here you’ll find a strip of houses with vibrant colors but beware this is the most popular picture place in Charleston and you’ll for sure run into bachelorette parties while here.

5) Waterfront Park.

From Rainbow Row it’s a quick walk to Waterfront Park where you will see the iconic pineapple fountain. If you’re looking to eat with views of the water check out The Vendue Rooftop, this is a perfect lunch spot with breathtaking views of Charleston.

6) The Battery referred to as “Battery Park”.

Take a scenic walk along the water to The Battery, the southernmost tip of Charleston. Here you’ll find historic homes and a beautiful park. Make sure to walk through the White Point Garden to see statues, cannons and memorials.

7) Folly Beach.

Drive to Folly Beach for sunset ($5 for parking). This beach town has tons of rooftop restaurants, if you have more than one day in Charleston I would suggest spending a day exploring here.

I made a TikTok about my day in Charleston and got a lot of people giving other suggestions if I ever head back, if you want more things to do check out my TikTok here. I hope this helped make your planning a bit easier!
