Things You Need To Know Before Visiting Any USA National Park

There’s an entrance fee for most National Parks.

The fee is anywhere from $20-$35. I would recommend buying an annual parks pass for $80 if you’re planning on visiting a few national parks or monuments in a year.

Do your research before you bring your dog.

Most National Parks allow pets in cars and at certain campgrounds, many don’t allow pets on the trails.

Be sure to do your research ahead of time before bringing your dog.

Drones are not allowed in any National Parks.

You risk getting a large fine when flying.

Also people on social media will usually rip you apart.

Download an offline map to your phone.

You will most likely lose cell service.

I recommend downloading an offline map on Google Maps or AllTrails. Also be sure to stop at the visitor center to pick up a park map and keep it on you at all times.

Have a charging case on your phone.

Have a chat with a park ranger.

When you stop at the visitor center to get a map there will most likely be a park ranger somewhere. They have the best advice about what to see and where to go.

Find out if there are any road or trail closures (you can also find this out on the National Parks website.

Keep a safe distance from wildlife.

The parks are home to wildlife. Be sure to keep a safe distance and never feed the animals.

If you are camping, keep all food in a bear box if the park requires it.

LEAVE NO TRACE!

Keep our national parks beautiful by properly disposing of trash, adhering to posted rules and be respectful!
