Here are 10 must-see places when visiting Paris!

1. Eiffel Tower

Make sure to visit during the day and at night. You’re going to want to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle at 10pm.

Make reservations at the restaurant or the champagne bar located in the Eiffel Tower.

Take the stairs instead of the elevator you’ll save time AND the stairs are much more fun. Beware, there are 674 steps to get to the second floor, so wear appropriate shoes. From the second floor to the top you must take the elevator because the stairway is closed to the public.

Click here to check out prices and times on the official Eiffel Tower website.

2. The Louvre

The worlds largest art museum holding over 35,000 pieces of artwork.

If you’re an art lover, I’d suggest making a game plan. There are maps of the Louvre online so you can plan your route beforehand. If you are planning on staying all day then bring snacks and water!

Make sure to check out the Mona Lisa!

3. Arc De Triomphe

There are 284 steps to the top so make sure you’re wearing appropriate shoes!

You’ll know what I mean when you get there but DON’T cross the traffic circle. Use the underground tunnel that can be accessed on the Avenue de la Grande ArMee side.

At night, you’ll be able to see the Eiffel Tower sparkle, along with the rest of this magical city.

4. Notre Dame Cathedral

Due to the tragic fire in 2019, the inside of the Cathedral is closed to tourist and worshipers. The repairs should be done by 2024.

You can still walk around the building, which I highly suggest doing. A trip to Paris is not complete without a visit to this beautiful Cathedral.

In front, there is a plaque on the ground marking the historic center of Paris.

5. Palace of Versailles

I’m really not sure how to describe this place because it was so unbelievable, you just have to see it for yourself.

How to get there? Take the RER C train that will take you to Chateau rive Gauche train station at Versailles. It takes about 45 minutes. In the metro station, you will have to purchase a round trip ticket to get to and from Versailles, it cost 7.10 euros.

Cost? 20 Euros to tour the palace and the gardens. You must reserve a time slot online to visit.

Hours? The Palace is open every day except on Mondays from 9am to 6:30pm. The park and gardens are open every day.

Download the app! The official Palace of Versailles app offers you free tours of the entire estate. It’s free of charge and includes audio guide tour of the Palace, the Gardens, the Trianon Estate and the Gallery of Coaches. It also includes an interactive map of the estate that can be used without internet connection.

6. Eat street food.

Small stands selling crepes can be found all over Paris!

7. Place Du Tertre.

A small plaza in the middle of the Montmartre neighborhood where over 100 artists spend the day creating works right there on the street.

This place holds a special place in my heart and I’ve gone each time I’m in Paris. Take your time here.

8. Latin Quarters.

This is a University town filled with unique stores and cafes.

Visit Shakespeare & Company book store, have your portrait drawn on any street corner and enjoy a cappuccino at one of the many cafes.

9. Seine River Cruise.

Such a relaxing experience and a very popular way to see the city.

Most cruises last about an hour. I would suggest going at dusk so you can see the Eiffel Tower sparkle.

Enjoy the views & landmarks of Paris drift by- the Louvre, Eiffel Tower, the Musee d’Orsay, Notre Dame Cathedral & more.

10. Galeries Lafayette.

An upscale French department store. This is like a mall on steroids – even if you’re not in the mood to shop, I suggest checking it out.
