If this place isn’t on you’re bucket list yet, add it. White Sands National Park is located in New Mexico and is absolutely a hidden gem of the United States.
I couldn’t believe my eyes when I pulled up and saw rolling hills of white sand.
How to get there?
El Paso International Airport in Texas is the closest airport to White Sands National Park and is about 102 miles away by car.
If you’re wanting to see more of New Mexico I would suggest flying into Albuquerque International Sunport Airport which is about 220 miles away by car. If you decide to go the longer route you can split up the drive into a few days on the way down.
Where to stay?
Las Cruces is the closest town to White Sands but the park is still about a 50 minute drive away.
Stay in Hotel Encanto de Las Cruces. This hotel has a great pool and is close to a ton of restaurants.
